It is spirit week at Alee Academy! Students are encouraged to show their school spirit by following the dress down days determined by our journalism students.
Last week, approximately 40 of our students and about 100 UHS students were introduced to the Powerhouse Youth Project at Umatilla High School. The students listened to stories of troubles and triumph from the guest speakers, Noble Sheep. After hearing that each and every student in the room had a passion and a purpose, the students made a commitment to POWER UP when things get tough because that is the attitude shift that must take place before one's true purpose can be found. We are so thankful to be a part of the Powerhouse Youth Project and see our students develop into the amazing and successful young people we all believe they can be.
The FAST Reading PM 1 testing window is open and all 9th and 10th grade students will be testing this week. 11th and 12th grade students will be given the reading and/or math retake tests over the next couple weeks as well. These tests are VERY important because not only do they provide our teachers with valuable information regarding specific areas we need to target but a passing score can meet the test requirements for graduation. Please get plenty of rest and eat a healthy breakfast so you are at your best!
It is hard to believe that we are nearly half way through the first grading period of the school year already! We have gotten off to a great start and things are finally settling in to place.
As we expected, we will reopen tomorrow, Thursday, August 31, 2023.
At this time we will operate on our normal schedule tomorrow August 29, but will be closed on Wedneaday, August 30. We are expected to reopen on Thursday, August 31. I urge you to check our website and our Facebook page for the most updated information.
