Good Evening Fam-Alee! This is Mrs. Emerick, with your week at a glance for the week of March 18, 2024.
I hope you all had an enjoyable Spring Break and are ready to finish the year strong! Starting tomorrow I need everyone at school on time everyday and have their game faces on!
We are beginning the last 9 weeks of school tomorrow. For those planning to graduate this year, that means you only have 8 weeks left before all courses must be completed with passing grades, EOC tests taken for Geometry, Biology, and US History if youre currently taking any of those, and, of course, the state test requirements are met. I am currently reviewing every student’s GPA to make sure all credit recovery has been completed for GPA improvement.
I’d like to invite parents of 11th and 12th grade students to come to campus Tuesday evening at 5:30 for a small bite to eat and an opportunity to talk with our teachers about your student’s progress. At 6:00, there will be a short presentation regarding graduation requirements. For those 11th and 12th grade students expecting to graduate in May, this will be your opportunity to see your student’s graduation status as of now. It is vital for students and parents to fully understand the expectations and timeline to meet the requirements for graduation so I urge you to join us on Tuesday. In order to provide a complete picture of your student’s status, please RSVP by emailing me or calling the front office . Also, please indicate whether you will be bringing any others so we can make sure we have enough food! Cap & Gown order forms will be available, yearbooks can be purchased, prom & grad bash tickets will also be available for purchase.
Just another reminder that chromebooks are not to be taken from campus without permission from me. Students that have been working diligently while at school, will be given permission to take their chromebook home, however, Edgenuity can be accessed from home devices.
Mrs. Bob & Mrs. Boling will be holding a writing boot camp on Wednesday for our 9th and 10th grade students as we prepare for the writing test that is coming up soon. Mrs. Emerick and Mrs. Burnett will be meeting with all Seniors on Wednesday to sign up for the SAT and/or ACT.
We will be offering the SAT at our school for 11th grade students, free of charge. 12th grade students can also take the SAT at that time, however there is a fee. Please contact Mrs. Burnett this week if you are interested as you may be eligible to obtain a waiver to take their ACT or SAT at a site other than our school. SAT school day Make - Up will be offered during the last week of March.
Prom tickets are officially on sale now. Mrs. Hemsath and Mrs. Murray have been working hard to make this year’s prom a truly amazing event. Tickets are $45 for one or $80 for 2.
Mrs. Murray and the yearbook class have been working on the 2024 yearbook and it is going to be awesome! There are tons of photos from this year and it is definitely a keepsake for everyone. Yearbooks are available for pre-sale now for $40 each. The cost will go to $50 April 1st.
We will continue selling pizza & sodas for lunch on Thursdays. Students must pre-order on Wednesday. Pizza is $2 a slice, sodas are $1.00 each.
Our next field trip is scheduled for the end of March. Students will be expected to be 60% complete in their Edgenuity classes to be eligible.
That’s all I have for this week. Have a wonderful rest of your Sunday!
