Weekly Announcements

Oct 08, 2023

Good Afternoon Fam-Alee!

I hope you have enjoyed this weekend, especially the cooler weather we’ve had today.

Here are a few announcements for the week of October 9, 2023.

The next three days we are expecting to have cooler temps in the morning. Students are permitted to wear their hooded sweatshirts to school but they will be collected at check-in. If students are prone to being cold throughout the day, they can wear a jacket or a non-hooded sweatshirt. Blankets are not allowed.

We are celebrating attendance again this week. Last week, 20 students earned a $10.00 gift card to McDonalds for being at school everyday, making academic progress, and having 0 discipline events. Outstanding job to these students! I have another special treat for students in attendance every day this week. Remember, students must be in attendance, working hard which can be seen by their academic progress, and must not have any discipline events. We will celebrate on Thursday!

We have another “spirit” week with fun dress up days to continue our push of reaching 95% attendance every day this week!

Monday - It’s Twin Day! Come dressed like twins with a friend!

Tuesday - Superhero Day. Students and staff are invited to dress like their favorite super hero! Please, no masks or face painting.

Wednesday - Student/Teacher dress swap. Students can dress like the teachers and teachers can dress like the students.

Thursday - Dress Down - wear what you like as long as it is school appropriate. Short shorts, tank tops, and crop tops are not permitted. Ladies, leggings are allowed to be worn on this day, however, be sure your shirt is long enough to cover your backside.

With October being breast cancer awareness month, I would also like to invite our staff and students to recognize those individuals that lost their battle with breast cancer, those still fighting, and those that have survived by wearing pink on Wednesdays for the rest of October. If students choose not to participate in our fun dress up days this week, pink shirts will be allowed any day this week. Students, please remember that clothing worn on dress up days must be acceptable for school.

To our powerhouse group: We will only have 1 session this week and it will be tomorrow at 12:45.

Wednesday evening, I invite you to join us at 5:30 pm for our annual Title 1 meeting and the 1st report card night of the year. We will be offering Publix subs and a variety of chips and drinks as well, so please, join us! At the conclusion of the Title 1 meeting, we will open up the campus for any parents and guardians to tour the classrooms and meet the teachers and staff. This is a great opportunity to speak to the teachers about your student’s academic progress and behavior in their class.

On the flyer below, you will see my email address and the phone number to the school. Please contact me via email to RSVP or you can call the school with the number of guests in your party. I look forward to meeting you on Wednesday night!

As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to any of if ever there is anything we can do to help you or your student. Have a great rest of your Sunday.
