Good Evening Parents, Students, and Staff,
Here are a few announcements for this upcoming week, October 2, 2023.
First thing’s first: it is Spirit Week at Alee Academy! Students are encouraged to show their school spirit by following the dress down days determined by our journalism students.
Monday 10/2/23 is Comfy Clothes Day! Students are encouraged to wear their comfy clothes….but this does not mean pajamas. Comfy clothes are sweatpants, legging, and even hoodies….yes, I said hoodies. Students, please be ready to take your hoodies off at check in, but you will be allowed to wear them around campus tomorrow but we ask that you not wear the hoods. Also, as comfy as you may be, remember there are 2 weeks left of this grading period so we need to use all of our time at school to be productive! You should be at 25% in all of your classes by next Thursday!
Tuesday 10/3/23 is Sports Day! Wear your favorite sports shirt or jersey.
On Wednesday, 10/4/23 we will hold another Workforce Wednesday so we want everyone to DRESS FOR SUCCESS! This means, wear an appropriate outfit as if you are going to interview for a new job!
Thursday, 10/5/23 is Pick a Decade! Dress like you’re from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, or 90s. I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Just remember, when we have dress down days, your clothing must still be appropriate for school. If you are choosing not to participate, please be sure you are in dress code, complete with acceptable bottoms and your Alee shirt.
We are still offering testing this coming week so we encourage students to be rested and have a good breakfast so they are ready to do their very best!
Our Powerhouse group will have sessions on Monday and Thursday this week.
We are doing really well with student attendance but I know we can do better! I need to lay my eyes on every one of our students this week! I have been checking Edgenuity progress and I know we have work to do so we aren’t falling behind. Besides just wanting to see you, I have a special “something” in store for students that attend EVERY day this week! Be sure you let me know that you are on campus every day this week or you might miss out!
Next Wednesday, 10/11/23 will be our Annual Title 1 meeting followed by our first Report card night of the year. This is a great opportunity for parents to come on campus and meeting the teachers and find out how your child is doing in their classes. We will also be having dinner so please complete the RSVP and return to the school no later than Thursday, 10/5/23.
