Workforce Wednesday at Alee Academy: Connecting Students with Real-World Careers
At Alee Academy, we believe in preparing students not just for graduation, but for life after high school. That’s why we created Workforce Wednesday, a program designed to connect students with local businesses and career professionals who are ready to “share the job and share the journey.”
On select Wednesdays, students will gather in the multipurpose room for a special presentation from a guest speaker. These professionals come from a variety of industries and backgrounds, offering firsthand insight into their careers, the paths they took, and the lessons they’ve learned along the way. Presentation times will vary, but each session is a unique opportunity for students to explore different career options and see what it really takes to succeed.
Know someone who has a great job story to tell? We’re always looking for guest speakers. If you know someone who would like to inspire the next generation by sharing their career journey, please have them email us to get involved.
Following the presentations, teachers will lead classroom discussions to help students process the information and ask questions. This time is also used to explore practical life skills such as how to fill out job applications, write resumes, and prepare for interviews. These real-world lessons are carefully planned to make sure students are not only informed but empowered.
Workforce Wednesdays are about more than just career exposure. They are a chance for students to discover new passions, gain valuable life skills, and have fun learning about the world beyond the classroom. Join us as we help students take the first steps toward a successful future.
