Weekly Announcements

May 12, 2024

Good Evening Fam-Alee and Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, grandmoms, aunts, and all those who have stepped in to serve in the role. I hope you’ve had a great day!

Well, the week of graduation is upon us. Some of our seniors have gotten the green light and are ready to graduate this Friday and others have been working this weekend, trying to finish up. For seniors with courses left to finish, the teachers and administrators have decided to allow you Monday and Tuesday to continue working. We cannot extend you any more time after Tuesday at 9:00 p.m. We have to allow time to finalize everything. Final verification will be done for all seniors on Wednesday. You will be notified by Wednesday evening or Thursday morning of your status.

Please read all the details of graduation carefully:

The commencement exercises for this year’s graduating class will be held at First Baptist Church in Umatilla. Graduation practice is at 9:00 A.M. on Friday, May 17th at the First Baptist Church in Umatilla. Practice will take approximately 1 hour. Later that evening, the doors will open at 6:00 p.m. Graduates need to be in their caps & gowns and prepared for the class picture at 6:15pm. The procession will begin promptly at 7pm so we ask families to please make their way to their seats before the procession begins. Seating is first come first serve.

In the foyer, we will have order forms for the 2024 yearbook available. The yearbook is $45.00 and must be paid for at the time of the order. The yearbooks should arrive in a couple of weeks. We will also have graduation banners available for purchase for $25.00 each. There are only a few of the grad banners left. We can only accept cash or checks at graduation. If you wish to purchase either of these items before graduation, please do so on the school store which can be found on our website.

In other announcements, ALL students that have not taken the PM3 Reading test, Biology EOC or U.S. History EOC will need to be ready for those tests. We are also beginning to test the Algebra 1 EOC and Geometry EOC. Graduates that need to fulfill their math and/or reading requirements for graduation, it is imperative that you are at school tomorrow and Tuesday. Parents, please I need ALL students in school and on time tomorrow. The testing season is very important and the students that have taken the tests so far have done extremely well. We have seen a lot of growth in reading and have many of the 10th and 11th grade students satisfy their reading requirement for graduation. Let’s keep up this momentum!

This Friday the campus will not be open as we will be preparing for graduation.

That’s all I have for this week. Have a wonderful rest of your Sunday!

Mrs. Emerick
