Tomorrow, May 16th starts the first day of the Algebra 1 EOC. This is a 2 day test so it is imperative that students are in school tomorrow and Tuesday if they are scheduled in Algebra 1 or Algebra 1B. The algebra test is a graduation requirement so parents, I urge you to please help make sure your kiddos are at school on time tomorrow and Tuesday as testing will begin no later than 7:30. We will also be continuing the Biology, Geometry, Civics and US History EOCs. These tests are also very important for students as their score calculates as 30% of their final grade for the course. Students should be prepared to take their tests seriously and work hard to do their very best.
Graduation is Wednesday, May 18th ! This is the day that our seniors have been working for. Because our graduation ceremony is on a Wednesday and we will be heading to the graduation venue for practice around 9:30, we are going to offer all non-graduates the chance to work on their school work remotely. However, students that prefer to come in to school on Wednesday, will be taking a trip with us to the graduation venue to see what the hype is all about! After graduation practice, we will bring all of the students back to campus to celebrate our graduates with lunch, provided by the school. There will even an opportunity to purchase an ice cream treat from the ice cream truck! So to recap, non-graduating students have the choice to work from home on Wednesday, May 18th or come to campus and join us for graduation practice. The buses will be running as normal.
Thursday, May 19th will be a normal school day where we will continue our testing. We will also have the campus open on Friday from 8:30-11:30 for students to come in and work one on one with their teachers to finish their courses. Monday, May 23rd will also be a normal school day, however, Tuesday, May 24th, Wednesday, May 25th, and Thursday, May 26th, we will be dismissing early around 11:45.
As mentioned in previous call out messages, please take a moment to complete the Student Intent to Return Survey that can be found on our school website or in the email that accompanies this message. Your input is vital to planning for next school year. I have also sent a graduate exit survey to our seniors. Parents, it would be very helpful if you would please mention this to your graduate. Their responses are also very important.
It is very hard to believe this year is almost over! I thank all of you for your patience and understanding as we have made the best of a crazy year. I sincerely appreciate it and look forward to working with you again next year. Have a great rest of your Sunday and as always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
