Weekly Announcements

Apr 03, 2022

Good Sunday Afternoon Parents, Students, and Staff. This is Mrs. Emerick writing with this week’s announcements.

First, I regret to inform you that the Leesburg area bus will not be running tomorrow, Monday, April 4th. Updates to this route will be made daily on our Facebook page, school website, email, and a callout like this one. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

FSA Testing is upon us! The FSA writing test begins on Tuesday, April 5th for 9th and 10th grade students and any 11th or 12th grade students that did not take the FSA Retake in October. The writing section of the test is one of three parts of the FSA Reading requirement so student MUST take all three parts of the test to earn a score. While the writing portion is only 1 session, the reading portion is made up of 2 sessions and will be offered over a period of 2 school days beginning May 2nd. Students MUST take the writing portion when offered this month or their reading test will not be scored. It is very important that students come to school each day prepared to take the writing test. We will ensure that students will have transportation to and from school during the FSA Writing window.

We are excited to announce our Attendance Bingo Luncheon will be held on Thursday! There will be a variety of foods provided from Publix for this month’s luncheon. I am sure that it will be amazing! A big thank you to all of the students that have committed to being at school, working hard, and meeting the school’s expectations for appropriate behavior. Students that were unfortunately part of the Mt. Dora, Sorrento, and Tavares transportation issue for the last 2 weeks will be included if they communicated with their teachers while they were working remotely.

Parents, as we look ahead to planning for next year, an intent to return survey will be sent to you via email in the coming days. Please take a moment to complete this form. This will only be used for planning purposes. Students that intend to return next year will need to complete an application for the 2022-2023 school year when the application is available, which will be before the year ends in May.

Our final blood drive of the year will be held on April 20th from 7:30 - 1:30 . If you would like to set an appointment time, please email me your preferred time. We would greatly appreciate you sharing this information with your friends and family. The local blood supply is low and we want to do our part to help. Appointments can be made online, please visit oneblood.org/donate-now and use sponsor code #38393 .

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. Have a great rest of your Sunday!
