Weekly Announcements - 3/6/2022

Mar 06, 2022

Good Sunday Afternoon Parents, Students, and Staff! Here are your weekly announcements for March 7, 2022.

This is the final week of the third grading period! It’s very hard to believe we have only 10 weeks of school left for this year! There is a lot to get done this week before we leave for Spring Break.

FSA ELA and Algebra 1 EOC retakes continues this week. It is super important that all students needing either or both of these tests are prepared everyday. Parents, I am asking that you please help us encourage your student to arrive to school on time and with a positive attitude. The sooner our students earn a passing score on these tests, the sooner they can stop worrying about meeting that requirement for graduation. Let’s all come in to school this week ready to tackle these tests because I know our kids will be successful with all of us offering encouragement and positive thoughts.

Students are also going to be taking the 3rd quarter Lake Standards Assessment this week. This test is a progress monitoring test that helps us all see where our student need additional support as we finish up the final quarter of the school year. The LSA tests are given in the following classes: Algebra 1, Geometry, Biology, and US History. These are also the 4 courses that will have an EOC coming up in May. Students should be prepared to do their absolute best on this progress monitoring test so all of our staff has a greater understanding of how to best support the students over the next several weeks to prepare them for their EOCs.

Last Thursday, March 3rd, invitations to our Annual Aenior Parent Night were sent to all seniors that are on track to graduate this year. Tomorrow, students that are classified as Juniors but are on track to graduate early, will receive their invitation as well. Parents, please be looking for the invitation. The event will be held at Alee on Wednesday, March 9th at 5:30 . Please RSVP to me by email or by calling the office as soon as possible so I can ensure we have enough food and all information is ready for each student and parent.

Spring Break begins on Friday, March 11th with students returning to school on Monday, March 21st . The campus will be closed to students on Friday, March 11th as that is the end of the quarter and a work day for teachers.

I want to remind all students and parents that the grades that are entered are NOT final. Students at Alee Academy are able to make up missing work from previous grading periods as deemed appropriate by the teachers and administration. Students have another 10 weeks to earn the credits they need to make this school year successful, however, it is very important that each day, students are using their time on campus with their teachers to work on their course work and get the help they need from their teachers. It is crunch time…so please, remind your students they still have time to complete this year successfully. Encourage them to be committed to doing what needs to be done to achieve their goals, and together, we will all celebrate their success!

Enjoy the rest of this beautiful Sunday!
