Weekly Announcements - 2/13/2022

Feb 13, 2022

Good afternoon families!

Next week we are back to regular dress code. students are expected to have Alee Academy t-shirts on. Hoodies are still permitted, however, we still need to get better at keeping the hoods off. Dress code appropriate pants must be worn - we have been seeing students wearing leggings, sweatpants, and other non-approved pants. Parents, please ensure that students are leaving the house in the appropriate attire for school. Parents will be called and expected to bring clothing if students are not in compliance with our dress code.

An issue that has starting to be become a problem is tardiness to class. Students have ample time to get to each period and are expected to arrive on time. Teachers have been instructed to close their doors after the tardy bell. Students that remain in the hallway will receive a referral and serve the period with me. We need to ensure that all students are progressing in their courses and their teachers are able to get started immediately, so this disruption is taking away from instructional time. Parents, please discuss the importance of arriving to school and class on time. We are not far from the end of the year so time is running out for our kids to be prepared for the testing that is coming up for graduation.

On Wednesday, March 9th we will hold a senior parent information event . Parents of seniors that are on track to graduate or are close, will receive an invitation by email and a flyer will be sent home with those students. The event will be at Alee Academy at 5:30 pm on March 9th. We will serve dinner. Tea, lemonade, and water will be available as well.

Monday 2/14 is Valentine’s Day! We will have candy grams available for students to purchase for their favorite valentine. The candy grams come with a heart to write a special message and a lollipop. They will be on sale for $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00. Students will have an opportunity to purchase their candy grams after check in.

We are continuing the APM testing this week for students that have not taken the 2nd test yet. This is a very important test and we hope students will work hard to complete it to the best of their ability.

Parents, below is a link to our parent survey . I am requesting a moment of your time to complete this survey this week. In an effort to make improvements to our program and move Alee Academy forward, to best meet the needs of our school family, I need your thoughts and opinions. They really do matter to me. The survey link will be active through Friday, February 18th. Thank you in advance for taking the time to help improve Alee Academy!

I am looking forward to another great week at Alee Academy and as always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Have a great rest of your Sunday!
