This week, on Wednesday, October 20th, we invite all students and staff to wear orange in recognition of Unity Day! This is the day that we all come together to show that we accept one another for our differences, our uniqueness, and send a visible message that no child should ever experience bullying. Students did a great job with last week’s DRESS DOWN so I am excited to offer this opportunity to “dress down”. In order to be out of dress code, students must wear all orange or have mostly orange in their outfit. This includes both tops and bottoms.
We started the 2nd grading period off really strong! We had a lot of students on campus and that means we have that many students looking to take advantage of the opportunity that Alee Academy is providing. The attendance bingo is going really well. The kids love the recognition they receive when they attend school each day. We are hopeful that we have twice as many joining us for the attendance incentive luncheon this month! Parents, if you or anyone you know is interested in donating small snacks or treats, we would greatly appreciate it.
On Thursday, October 21st, Alee Academy will be joining the UHS in the Homecoming parade. We will decorate the Alee Academy bus with signs and hand out flyers about our school. We have done this in the past and had a great time! Students wishing to join us are welcome to stay at school until we leave at 4:00pm. Students and staff will ride to Umatilla together on the bus, ride or walk the parade route, then return to Alee Academy once the parade is over. Students must be picked up by a parent/guardian at 6:30 at Alee. Students wishing to participate, MUST get a permission form signed and returned by Thursday. Permission forms are available in the front office and must be returned to the front office.
We are excited to welcome three new teachers to our FAM-ALEE. Mr. Flakoll , Mrs. Murray , and Mrs. Hemsath . Mr. Flakoll will be teaching English 1 , English 3 and Speech . Mrs. Murray will be teaching English 2 , English 4 and Creative Writing . Mrs. Hemsath will be teaching our Algebra classes along with Intensive Math and Earth/Space Science . Students, please be sure to give them a very warm welcome.
Our Charter Board will hold the monthly meeting tomorrow, Monday, October 18th at 4:00 P.M.
Thank you to the parents and staff that completed the survey I sent last week regarding our Title 1 funds. Please be on the lookout of more opportunities to help!
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
