Good Afternoon Alee Academy Family,
I hope you have enjoyed your extended weekend! As we move into our 5th week of the school year, I have identified some areas of need in order to continue operating efficiently and effectively. As I mentioned in last week’s callout, we made a slight change in our morning drop off procedure as well as our afternoon dismissal. While our school hours are not changing, these procedures do require a couple extra minutes. Everyone’s patience is appreciated.
Additionally, changes to some of our classes and staff must be done as well. I have decided to move Mrs. Burnett into a leadership role at our school. Mr. Coleman will now be teaching our intensive reading classes which he is highly qualified to teach. Please know that these changes are set in place to ensure that our students get the best learning opportunities that we can provide while continuing to have a safe and secure learning environment. I am so proud of all of our students that were awarded a special treat for earning attendance bingo this past week! We have an even bigger special treat planned for all those that earn BINGO for all of September. Students, keep coming to school everyday with learning as your primary purpose!!! Please remember that if you are not feeling well, please stay home. as well. Parents of students that begin to feel sick while at school will be called and pickup is required. At this time, masks are still optional but are strongly encouraged.
Progress reports will be available on Skyward, Thursday, September 9th. We are hosting our Title 1 Annual Meeting on September 23rd and our classes will have an exposition that evening to show off their Hispanic Heritage projects. The event begins at 5pm. At this time, we plan to hold the meeting and expo in person, however, that may have to change to a virtual meeting. Please watch our Facebook page and website for updates.
One additional reminder…if your student does not have their technology agreement signed and on file, they are not able to have a Chromebook issued to them. We will be sending agreements home once again for anyone that has not turned one in. Please return it signed on Wednesday.
