Good Evening Alee Academy family,

I hope you have had a great weekend. We have a few events this week. Tomorrow, Monday, October 7th, we are going to begin Bullying Prevention Month by asking everyone to wear BLUE. Students may wear a non-dress code shirt that is mostly blue tomorrow - remember that it must be Lake County School appropriate. Bottoms must still be in Alee dress code.

Tuesday, October 8th we will have fall pictures. All students will be photographed! We are encouraging students to DRESS THEIR BEST, which means, another dress down day! As always, please be sure your outfit is in compliance with Lake County dress code requirements. We have not had any issues with being out of compliance this so far this year so keep it up students so we can continue having dress down days!

On Friday, October 18th we will hold our annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser from 5-7 at Alee Academy. Eat in or take out available. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and we need your help to keep it that way! Tickets are available for $10 per meal and include spaghetti, meat sauce & meatballs, garlic bread, salad, and a cookie. There will be additional desserts and drinks available for purchase. We will gladly deliver during the lunch hour between 12:30 - 1:30 if we have 5 orders or more for the same location. This is a great way to have an office lunch while helping us out at the same time.

We want to send a special thank you to Duct Man Mechanical and the Draggin’ Boat race team from the Villages for donating lots of bottled water for our Fall Field Day activities. It was definitely hot and the water helped keep our kids well hydrated. Everyone had a great time. Thank you to our service learning class for putting all the activities together. We are all looking forward to our next outside “fun” day.

Last week we were informed that we were being forced to consolidate our 2 sessions due to lower than expected enrollment during session 2. This decision was not made lightly but unfortunately it is necessary at this time. We have been working tirelessly to ensure that the transition for all of our students will be smooth and that the impact of this decision will be a positive one. This change will take effect at the end of the 1st quarter. All students will be scheduled for Session 1 effective Tuesday, October 15th. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our director, Mrs. Valentino.
