View on YouTube Good evening parents and students, I’m writing to share about our weekly events for the week of September 30th through October 4th. Tomorrow, September 30th we are welcoming in Fall by wearing camouflage from head-to-toe students and staff are permitted to wear camouflage in any color or pattern. Hoodies are permitted for this dress down day however, students please remember when you are inside the building your hood cannot be on your head.

On Tuesday morning, Lake County Schools Superintendent Diane Kornegay and State Representative Jennifer Sullivan will be visiting our school. Rep. Sullivan is anxious to see what Alee Academy is all about and we are excited to show her all of the good things Alee has to offer the students of Lake County.
Good Evening! The next few weeks are packed full of all sorts of “happenings”. Below you will find a list of our upcoming events for September and October. September 9-18 - Title 1 Annual Meeting. Please let me know if you can attend. We are excited to share our plan for this year and introduce you to the paraprofessionals that will be working alongside the classroom teachers to help your student with their skills in all subjects, especially math and reading.
Open Enrollment Open Enrollment Continues!! There are still seats available at Alee Academy! We would love to have the opportunity to work with your student. If he/she is falling behind in their credits, struggling in their classes, or need a boost in their GPA, we are here to help! Because of our smaller population, we have the ability to provide more one on one help. Don’t wait until it is too late.

Tuesday, September 10th – “We belong together” (Crazy hair) remember to stay in dress code - JUST hair is allowed to be crazy #Connected Wednesday, September 11th – “You belong to your team” (wear your favorite sports team shirts) #TackleAttendance Thursday, September 12th – “We belong to Comic vs Marvel Universe” (super hero shirts) #ShowUp #BeAHero Friday, September 13th – “We belong to Alee” (wear tie dye shirts or a shirt with rainbows on it) #WeBelong Along with the spirit week, to emphasis attendance in school, next week there is an art contest within the district.

We are definitely thankful that our area was not affected by Hurricane Dorian as initially predicted. Lake County Schools has announced that school will reopen on Thursday 9/5/19. In keeping with our planned spirit week, wear your favorite SUPER HERO shirt! We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow. Ms. Emerick
We have been closely monitoring the path of Hurricane Dorian and working directly with Lake County Emergency Management. Based on their guidance we an confirm that schools will be closed on Tuesday, Sept 3, and Wednesday, Sept. 4. Additionally, Lake County Emergency Management has announced that emergency shelters will open at noon Monday, 9/2/19, at six of our schools. Mount Dora High is designated as a public shelter. Our public and pet friendly shelters are Round Lake and Spring Creek Elementary, Umatilla Elementary and Lost Lake Elementary.
Friday, August 30, is a regular, full school day. No early dismissals are planned for today, and all athletic events for today will proceed as scheduled. We expect to have an announcement this afternoon regarding school operations for next week. The school district works in cooperation with the Lake County Emergency Management team. Any decisions regarding school closured will be made with their guidance.
View on YouTube Good Evening Alee Academy Family! We have had a great first two of weeks of school and are excited to enter into our third week of school. Things are going well and it seems that the students are also excited about being back to school. All classes have begun diving into our curriculum and the students are working very hard. We are hopeful the student motivation we are seeing right now will continue.
